On July 20, Cons TV, a channel for web dramas, revealed their list of web dramas with the highest number of views for the first half of 2016.
Starring EXO’s Kai and actress Park Eun Bin, “Choco Bank” comfortably takes first place with close to 9.5 million views. Marking 7 million views more than IHQ’s “Nightmare Teacher,” “Choco Bank” is reportedly popular for its relatable themes of people in their 20s, their dreams, and how the real world reflects these things.
Second-place “Nightmare Teacher” is a romantic comedy that is lauded for being well-made and praised for its stellar cast that includes Uhm Ki Joon, Kim So Hyun, and BTOB’s Minhyuk.
In third place and fourth place are two returning web dramas, “The Cravings Season 2,” and “Oh Gu Sil Season 2.” Meanwhile, OnStyle’s “Beautiology 101” ranks fifth, while “Ready For Start” and “Tomorrow Boy” take sixth and seventh place respectively.
Cons TV comments, “The first half of 2016 was a time where the market for web dramas, which churned out many trending productions last year, finally stabilized and solidified its position with killer content material.”
