[171210] EXO’s “The War” Becomes Their Best-Selling Album With Almost 1.6 Million Copies Sold

EXO has broken another one of their own sales records with their most recent album!

According to Gaon Chart, EXO’s fourth studio album “The War” has recorded 1,592,792 copies sold as of November 30, with the original album having sold 1,086,307 copies, and its repackaged edition “The War: The Power of Music” having sold 506,485 copies.

With almost 1.6 million albums sold, “The War” is the group’s best-selling album since their debut in 2012 so far, and is currently also the best-selling K-pop album of 2017.

EXO was the first group in 12 years to sell over a million physical copies back in 2013 with their first studio album, and their subsequent second and third studio albums also surpassed one million in sales. In 2016, the group set a record when they sold over 2.13 million albums overall. Earlier this year, EXO gained the title of “quadruple million seller” in just 24 days after “The War” was released on July 19.

Their title track “Ko Ko Bop” also currently holds the record for staying first place on Gaon Chart’s digital chart the longest without pause, at four consecutive weeks, has surpassed 1 million in digital downloads, and was the most tweeted about song in 2017.

Meanwhile, EXO will be releasing their annual winter special album on December 21, and will also be continuing their fourth concert tour “EXO PLANET #4 – The EℓyXiOn” with concerts in Fukuoka on December 22-24.

[171017] Remix Versions Of EXO’s “Power” To Be Released Through SM STATION

Several remixes of EXO’s “Power” will be revealed this week!

On October 18, it was announced that four separate remixes by DJs R3HAB, Dash Berlin, IMLAY, and SHAUN will be released through SM STATION.

R3HAB is a DJ and producer from the Netherlands who has been listed in the top 20 of DJ Mag’s ranking for seven consecutive years. Dash Berlin is a Dutch electronic music group, and IMLAY is a rising Korean DJ. SHAUN is a member of Korean rock band KOXX and also a DJ and producer.

The remixes of “Power” will be released on October 20 at 6 p.m. KST.

You can now get a glimpse of how EXO's supernatural jacket photos were made in a new making film from the photoshoot set of 'The War: The Power of Music'!

While EXO's unique jacket photos consisted of the members showcasing their superpowers from outer space, the raw photoshoot, of course, consisted of each member posing in front of a blank screen or a very darkly lit room.

Although “Inkigayo” did not air on September 17 due to a boxing match, the winner for the week has been announced!

The program did not air live, but an episode of “Inkigayo” was still recorded to be broadcast next week. On site, it was announced that EXO has taken the crown this week with “Power.”

This marks EXO’s fourth win for “Power” and their 102nd career win as a group.

[170915] EXO Has Officially Taken Home 100 Music Show Wins As Whole Group

EXO has achieved another impressive feat!

The group recently took home first place on the September 14 episode of Mnet’s “M!Countdown” with a perfect score of 11,000 points for “Power,” which is from their repackaged album “THE WAR: The Power of Music.”

According to SM Entertainment on September 15 KST, this marks their 100th win on a domestic music show. This is excluding any wins that were garnered through solo or unit releases, such as those won by EXO-CBX.

EXO recorded their first ever music show win on June 14, 2013 with “Wolf,” the title track of their first full-length studio album “XOXO.” Every one of their title tracks since then has gained them numerous music show wins each over the past four years.

Meanwhile, EXO will continue their music show promotions for “Power” on the September 15 broadcast of KBS2’s “Music Bank,” where they are also nominated for first place.

EXO made a new record with ''Power''!

On the September 14 episode of 'M Countdown', EXO took home the trophy with their new powerful track. The total score tallying up to the victory was 11,000, which is the highest score of all-time in 'M Countdown' history. 

Since 2015, Girls' Generation held the record for the highest score on the music show with ''Lion Heart''. The track hit a score of 10,988 on September 3, 2015. However, their label hoobae EXO now holds the honorable title and received the highest possible score of 11,000.

The boys' 4th repackage album 'The War: The Power of Music' topped Hanteo, Synnara, Yes24, Hottracks, Kyobo, and more to show EXO's real 'power'.

EXO's 4th repackaged album 'The War: The Power of Music' contains 12 songs total, as well as graphic novel format content, telling tales of EXO's fantastical adventures. The title of the repackage is "Power", and two other new songs on the repackage are "Sweet Lies" and "Boomerang".
