[151110] EXO Sets New First-Week Sales Record for Korean Artist with Debut Japanese Single

EXO has set a new sales record in Japan with its debut single. 

EXO′s debut Japanese single Love Me Right ~romantic universe~, which was released on November 4, not only debuted at number one on the Oricon daily chart, it is ranked number one on the weekly chart, demonstrating EXO′s popularity in Japan.


EXO′s single sold 146,000 copies in the first week, the most for a Korean artist′s debut single in Japan, and many are expecting EXO syndrome to spread in Japan. 

Oricon stated through an article on its news page, titled ′EXO′s debut Japanese single is number one! 146,000 copies sold, the most for a Korean artist in the first week,′ writing ′The sales from the first week is the highest ever for a Korean artist′s debut single.′

The single album contains two tracks, the Japanese version of Love Me Right, the lead single from EXO′s repackaged second album, and Drop That. 

Additionally, EXO headlined its first dome concert at the Tokyo Dome over three days, from November 6 to 8, gathering 145,000 fans and setting a new record as the foreign artist to hold a dome concert in the shortest amount of time. All eyes are on EXO, who is scoring big with its single and concert in Japan. 

Meanwhile, EXO will take the dome tour to the Kyocera Dome in Osaka from November 13-15.
