[151210] EXO Thrills Fans at Comeback Showcase With Performances of New Songs Off Winter Album

EXO got to celebrate their comeback with their fans at their December 10 showcase entitled “Sing For You”!

The showcase was held at Lotte World, a theme park in Seoul, however fans who weren’t lucky enough to attend could also watch it live through Naver’s V app. It was EXO’s first chance to perform for their fans since the release of their special winter album, “Sing For You,” at midnight on December 10.

EXO opened the show with a fun and high-energy performance of their hit track "Love Me Right".

The group performed three songs from their new album for fans during their showcase, including their two title tracks “Sing For You” and “Unfair,” as well as “On the Snow.” EXO explained, “The reason we picked two title tracks is that they are both so good that we couldn’t choose.”

EXO also got to have an honest talk with their fans and they shared some stories from their MV filming. Sehun revealed that he really was wearing a spacesuit during the filming, and that it wasn’t added in through special effects later like some viewers have assumed. “I was sweating a lot for those two hours while I was on the wires,” he said.

Fans can also get a peek at what happened on the set of their album jacket photo shoot and the filming of the music video for “Sing For You” in a special behind-the-scenes video that was shared during their showcase.

EXO’s knowledge of their fellow members was also put to the test during a pop quiz. D.O. came in last place in the quiz and therefore had to take a penalty, which was to ride the Viking ride at the theme park. Suho meanwhile got first place and therefore got to choose which other member had to ride the Viking, but he chose himself!

During EXO’s final comments at their showcase, Chanyeol said, “I’m glad we rented the theme park to meet our fans. Usually when someone rents a theme park, it’s to hold a romantic event for their boyfriend or girlfriend. Maybe that’s why it feels like I’m on a date with all of you fans now. It feels great.”

[151210] EXO rakes in a record-breaking 56 million hearts on V

Broadcast Date: Dec. 10
Starring: EXO, Taecyeon (2PM), Mamamoo, JJCC

Fans went wild when EXO members appeared onstage on, singing “Love Me Right,” in a concert relayed on V app. The stage was decorated with beautiful blue lights and Christmassy decors, creating a warm, cozy winter mood.

“It’s like a dream to hold a showcase here,” said Suho, adding he always dreamed of making a proposal at a theme park.

Baekhyun agreed, saying he wanted to get a day pass and take rides with his fans.

“I have a fear of heights, so I’ll just take photos of you on the rides,” he added.

When Oh Jung-yeon, who hosted the event, asked EXO about the recent concert in Tokyo Dome, Chen said it was first time for him to see such a big crowd, saying he was really excited. Nicknamed the “Big Egg,” Tokyo Dome is the world’s largest roofed baseball stadium with 55,000 seats in total. Having concerts at the venue reflects the artists’ popularity. It was unprecedented for an overseas act to have a concert at the stadium just 3 years since its debut.

When asked about how they felt about the year, the members talked about what 2015 meant to them.

“We had our second concert in Korea and were the first artist to perform at Korea’s first roofed baseball stadium,” said Suho, adding, “We also got honorable awards recently.”

“I’m turning 23 next year, but I want to get older,” said Sehun, the group’s youngest member. Then there was a big “no” from the crowd. Chanyeol, in response, made jokes about Sehun getting “less cute” as he gets older.

They also unveiled double title tracks from their new album, singing “Sing for You” and “Unfair” at the showcase. Chen introduced the two songs, saying they “contrasted” somewhat.

“Sing for You” is a lyrical ballad tune with sweet acoustic guitar accompaniment, whereas “Unfair” is a pop tune with a trendy, rhythmic melody.

“I always wanted to sing a ballad with the members,” said Baekyun, adding he was surprised at their talent.

The members also had a fun quiz event where they had to answer questions related to each member.
