EXO's Lay (Zhang Yi Xing) looked every bit like royalty while wearing fur-lined mantles and embroidered shirts in his upcoming Chinese drama Old Nine Gates.
Three behind-the-scenes shots were reportedly released by producers of the drama revolving around nine families of tomb raiders, with Lay starring as Er Yue Hong, one of the family heads with a flower boy image and is an opera singer.
In the first behind-the-scene shot, Lay wears a dark fur-lined mantle and a leaf-patterned shirt underneath. His character appears to be reconstructing an elaborate tomb.
His outfit above appears to be one of his main uniforms throughout the drama, with a similar outfit shown in a previous character poster released by the show.'
The second shot shows Lay sitting behind a desk with dozens of relics and old photographs around him.
The third and final shot shows Lay listening intently for direction from the show runners.
Lay co-stars the drama with William Chan as Zhang Qi Shan, another of the family heads, and the two characters initially discover an ancient tomb and then team up to thwart a Japanese plot to poison the Changsa river as part of their invasion strategy, according to a drama synopsis from Chinese drama fan site A Virtual Voyage.
