[160608] EXO′s Lay Shares His Desire for Solo Career

Boy group EXO′s Chinese member Lay has stated that he has a desire to promote a solo career if his agency allowed him to.

On June 8, EXO attended a press release for their 3rd full album EX′ACT at the SMTOWN COEX Artium located in Seoul, Korea.

Member Lay stated, "I am the only Chinese member in the team. There are difficulties because the thoughts and systems are different from China. But I am trying hard to fit in."

Lay, who recently released his solo track Monodrama through SM STATION, was asked about a solo career and answered, "I would have to ask my agency about whether I can have solo activities. I want to do it. It would be possible if the company approved it. I am ready."

Super Junior′s Leeteuk, who was the MC, stated, "Lay knows the answer. Of course the agency has to first say okay."

This album was completed to perfection with the help of hit composers, world-renowned producers and experienced musicians. The 9 tracks include a variety of genres from electronic, pop, progressive to R&B.

EX′ACT includes double tracks Monster, which has unique sounds and fresh vocal patterns, and Lucky One, which is an upbeat punk dance track.

Fans are also showing huge interest in the new album with preorders reaching over 660,000 copies.

Meanwhile, EXO will begin actively promoting their new album on Mnet′s M COUNTDOWN on June 9 followed by performances on KBS2′s Music Bank on June 10, MBC′s Show! Music Core on June 11 and SBS′ Inkigayo on June 12.
