SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Yonhap) -- Lay of South Korean boy band EXO will make his solo debut in China with his first EP to be released next week, his agency said on Friday.
The Hunan-born Chinese singer-songwriter will roll out six-song EP "Lose Control" next Friday at 1 a.m. on Xiami Music, a music service providing arm of China's Ali Music, the singer's management S.M. Entertainment said in a press release. The EP will be simultaneously released on South Korean mainstream music streaming and downloading providers.
The 25-year-old artist has composed, written and arranged all six songs of the EP, vowing to show his own musical prowess. The songs are sung in Chinese.
The EP is the first solo work by an EXO member after the boy group's debut here in April 8, 2012.
Lay's China debut follows his special birthday single "What U Need?" unveiled on Oct. 7, a precursor to his solo debut. Upon the release, the song immediately topped Xiami Music's chart.
