[160914] EXO’s Suho and Baekhyun become chefs for MBC’s “Idol Cooking Show”

Aside from being entertainers, EXO‘s Suho and Baekhyun must now putting their cooking skills to the test on MBC‘s Idol Cooking Show. Putting on their aprons and cooking gloves, it’s time for the members to step into the cooking world.

After EXO’s performance for their hit song “Lotto,” two of the members, Suho and Baekhyun, headed to MBC’s cooking show to perform a simple cooking task and to see if they had what it takes to be a master in the kitchen.

MBC released a short preview of the artists being given the task of cooking eggs, and they were given two options: either fry the egg into an omelet or hard-boil the eggs. The members were each given 10 minutes to complete the task and that’s where cooking journey begins.

Baekhyun started the task first, by pouring water into the pink pot. He carefully pours the right amount of water, closes the lid and waits for the water to boil. Minutes fly by and Baekyhun lifts up the lid of the pot and to his surprise, the water wasn’t boiling. Flustered and confused, he could only laugh at his situation as time continues to fly by.

Suho hesitates at first with what to do, but decides to fry the eggs into an omelet. He grows more comfortable with the cooking process as he talks to the viewers step by step with what he’s doing next. He seems at ease with what he’s doing until he accidentally leaves his omelet on the pan for too long and it begins to burn.

EXO’s Baekhyun and Suho don their aprons and set off to take on the daunting task of cooking.

In a short preview released by MBC’s “Idol Cooking Show,” they appear to be tasked with either frying an omelet or poaching an egg in the allotted time 10 minutes.

First, Baekhyun pours a very generous amount of water into the pot, and begins the waiting game, watching to see if it will boil. Meanwhile, Suho seems to be more hesitant at first, before slowly beginning the cooking process.

As time quickly flies by, Suho continues to talk through everything he’s doing, while Baekhyun just quietly stares at the pot, wondering why the water won’t boil. When he hears there is only three minutes left, Baekhyun can only soullessly laugh at his situation.

MBC’s upcoming Chuseok special, idol cooking competition “Idol Chef King,” has shared a new batch of behind-the-scenes photos featuring EXO members Baekhyun and Suho!

Despite admitting that they are not the best cooks (Suho says he’s not even sure how to tie an apron), Baekhyun and Suho look hard at work as they cook up a storm in the kitchen.

As many as 216 idol applicants from 62 groups total competed in the “Idol Chef King” preliminaries last month. EXO’s Baekhyun and Suho were among them, as well as members of groups NCT 127, BTS, VIXX, TWICE, AOA, BTOB, B1A4, Hello Venus, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz, and many more.

Fans had been excited for 'Idol Chef King' ever since news and photos of the program started coming out, and now we have a teaser!

The video shows many idols - including BTS' Jin, EXO's Baekhyun and Suho, BTOB's Sungjae and Eunkwang, TWICE's Dahyun, VIXX's N, EXID's Hyerin, and many more - preparing for the preliminary round. 216 idols applied from 62 different idol groups.

MBC’s upcoming chuseok special “Idol Chef King” has shared its first trailer!

The show held its preliminary competition last month, featuring 216 idol applicants from 62 groups in total, with the goal of discovering the best cook within the idol world. Applicants who battled it out in the preliminaries in an attempt to grab a spot on the show include members of BTS, EXO, VIXX, TWICE, AOA, NCT 127, BTOB, B1A4, Hello Venus, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz, and many more groups.

On September 5, the show shared a sneak peek at the competition by releasing a trailer video. In addition to the applicants’ introductions, the video shows how the preliminary competition was set up, with each of the idols carrying out a cooking task in an enclosed numbered cubicle. Some look like they’re having more trouble than others, such as AOA’s ChoA who’s laughing over her pot boiling over and Baekhyun of EXO who says “This is too much!” with a laugh, while others such as BTS’s Jin seem to be totally in the zone.
